The Quakes earned their first victory of the 2019 MLS Season. The rival, the Portland Timbers, team that represented the MLS West Conference in MLS Cup 2018.
Tommy Thompson showed to the fans why he is the first Quakes Academy to wear the jersey of the first team playing an spectacular game.
Panamenian Anibal Godoy was fundamental also in the midfield running and fighting every ball he is beggining to understand the style of Matias Almeyda.
On defense another Panamenian Harold Cummings was solid controlling the Timbers attack and helping his keeper earn a shootout.
It was a relief for the Quakes organization that was having problems sending home the fans happy and with a reason to come back to Avaya Stadium. Without a doubt this victory is refreshing not only for them but for the fans who were tired of loosing.
Another hero of the game was keeper Diego Vega who saved a penalty helping the team to consolidate the victory.
The Quakes returns to action on Saturday, April 13 when they face the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium.
